converting nVIDIA GeForce / GeForce 2 into Quadro / Quadro 2 Pro

nVIDIA has implemented many features into the GeForce chip. For marketing purposes these are subdivided into four segments which can only be used if the correct PCI ID is selected. The GeForce exists of the following sets: NVxx, NVxxDDR, NVxxBR, NVxxGL whereas xx stands for 10 - GeForce, 11 - GeForce2 MX and 15 - GeForce2
The difference between NVxx / NVxxBR and NVxxDDR / NVxxGL is just the RAM interface. Although you can modify this setting too it won't give you any utility.
The selection of the PCI ID can be done by setting voltage levels of the BIOS chip on the graphics card. The procedure is mostly the same on all nVIDIA based cards because almost all manufacturers use the reference design by nVIDIA. You only have to adjust two 10kOhm resistors on the board.
